Dear Classmates,
As high school reunions go, our 40th is now in the can, but we are confident all had a good time. We look forward to the next one.
Thank you for your attendance, but more specifically for your contributions to our special project, the development of a scholarship fund. Having conceived this project late in the reunion planning process, we were initially skeptical about its potential for success. However, we were soon very gratified as local businesses and generous classmates came forth with substantial donations and pledges of cash, goods, and services, stimulating brisk raffle ticket sales at the reunion.
As a result of such benevolence, the event was an over-whelming success, generating a starting fund of over $5,500. This allows formation of the "HHS Class of ‘68 Foundation," which will administrate and expand the fund, process applications, and award the first scholarship(s) to the class of 2009 and beyond. Who can know what good this will bring to the lives of those recipients and to the future society they will serve? We can all feel good about the possibilities.
For your part in this process, for your donations and/or raffle ticket purchases, we express our deepest gratitude. For your generosity, we wish for you a future of piece and prosperity. As we continue the fund-raising effort, we anticipate future calls to classmates and others to help sustain and expand the fund. As you receive such solicitations, we encourage you to continue sharing and thereby help establish our class as a serious societal benefactor. We will continue to issue reports and maintain donor lists into the future via this website. Please click on "Details of Events" at left to veiw donor lists.
Sincerely,
HHS Class of ‘68 Foundation Board
